[And a pause, because he wants to ask but he also doubts it'll go over well, but there has to be some reason Sam is still talking to him, right? Still, he holds off for now, instead trying--]
It wasn't exactly a return to normalcy coming back, though.
Apparently all this overgrowth first happened right after people found themselves in the other alternate world, Zerzura. Could be coincidence, but it seems a little more than that.
nothing about this place seems all that coincidental, if you ask me. whatever it took to get us here must've had an effect on the place. how much more's it really gotta take to get us over in some other alternate dimension?
you look at all these plants, all the animals, i wouldn't be surprised if they tried to send us on more of these little jaunts. seems like we're improving the place.
If that's the goal, I wouldn't be surprised either.
[And actually, now that he thinks of it--]
You've heard about the people who make the shrines to Displaced, right? They think we're touched by gods or something along those lines, and they have a big focus on nature over technology.
[And so if it really is this whole gods thing, with the new information they have, then Sam might be right; the plant growth might not be a side effect, but the point.]
with the tattoos? yeah, i know who you mean. after someone around here drowned half of south america, i can't exactly blame them for being suspicious of the whole technology thing. gotta be one helluva skill to pick up an entire city and dump it in someone's gladiator fantasy, though.
you know anyone who got dropped in the other one? zerzura?
[ since it doesn't sound like lance was "lucky" enough to have that experience. ]
No, but I'm tired of trying to explain any level of nuance--not to you specifically, just in general--about this topic, so if the consensus right now is 'gods', then fine. Gods it is.
What about, the vegetation? I'm not sure I'd get anything new out of that.
Normally I'd say yes, but I shouldn't with everything going on. Mostly people out in the city are just confused or upset, but there are some who are a little unpredictable.
