Knowing an inevitability doesn't make the time in between less important, and no matter who you end up with in the future you still have the time to sort out--if you'd like to--what you feel while here. You don't even have to come to the same conclusion as you might in the future; the you here and now is just as valid and important as the you eight years in the future.
