![]() ☄ First Impressions ♚ VISUAL: Lance is 6'0", with dark brown eyes and hair; his hair is naturally curly and gets even more so (and more ridiculous) the longer it gets. Although difficult to see without the right lighting or being close to him, he has freckles on his nose and under his eyes. He tends to appear much younger than his actual age, which is 29, and has a slender but athletic build. He has scars that are mostly hidden under his clothes at all times, including one on his right side from being accidentally shot by a coworker, and several distinctive marks across his shoulders and upper back caused by a whip. There's also a scar on his left upper arm from being grazed by a bullet ricochet, and that can be seen when he wears short sleeves. ♚ FASHION: Although most of the time in canon he wears a suit, due to working at the FBI, in Hadriel he tends to dress more casually. He typically wears jeans, casual layers, and loose sweaters. This is mostly for practicality in Hadriel, as well as to hide his gun when he chooses to carry it. ♚ DEMEANOUR: For the first few months in Hadriel he was very tense and closed off, both in terms of attitude and body language, but he's beginning to relax a bit now that he's healed and has had time to get his bearings. With people he's not familiar with he tends to be friendly but distant, but with friends or favorable acquaintances he's warmer and more animated; he's expressive and tends to gesture when he talks. For those he actively doesn't like, he's short and somewhat cold but usually tries to remain civil to varying degrees of success. ♚ SOUND: He has a low but not particularly deep voice, and tends to speak softly; he very rarely raises his voice. Lance can sing, and he and his girlfriend Daisy attend competitive karaoke competitions. He's just as expressive with his voice as he is with his face, although he's fond of delivering his sarcasm very dryly. ♚ MENTAL INFORMATION: Nothing in general to note, but for specifics in terms of plotting I'm happy to discuss it further! ♚ MAGICAL INFORMATION: Lance is learning some magic at this point in Hadriel, so if it's relevant feel free to message me with any questions/for more details. ☄ IC ♚ PHYSICAL AFFECTION: Lance is generally okay with physical affection, as long as it isn't a surprise; even strangers can usually get away with a pat on the shoulder as long as he sees it coming. He allows hugs, but from people other than friends he tends to go stiff and lean away and/or pretend his arms don't work. Most of the time, though, he prefers if strangers or casual acquaintances don't touch him; however, with friends he can be very casual about physical affection, including occasional spontaneous hugs. ♚ PHYSICAL VIOLENCE: Violence is a very fast way to make him dislike someone, and he's not inclined to forgive it. He's not likely to fight back or retaliate unless he thinks his life in danger, but at that point he's actually a decent and surprisingly opportunistic fighter; he also carries a gun and is an excellent marksman, although he doesn't always have the weapon on him. Generally, however, he has a great dislike for violence and avoids it whenever possible; he doesn't even kill spiders. ♚ RELATIONSHIPS: Lance's girlfriend Daisy is pregnant back at home, and he's very devoted to and loves her dearly. However, his low self-esteem and general issues have also lead to him developing the bad habit of responding to most advances made toward him; in canon he allows two different people to kiss him while he's in a relationship with Daisy, although he does stop things from going any further for that reason. That said, this is still a potential issue with him, and it's not impossible that it might come up in game. ♚ TRIGGERS: He's a survivor of child abuse, and so is particularly sensitive to the subject. In addition to the lingering effects of those experiences, he was very violently attacked just before arrival in Hadriel; the trauma of the latter has brought back up some of the issues of the former, and anything involving either may be upsetting to him. ☄ OOC ♚ BACKTAGGING: Go for it! My tagging speed ranges so I totally understand delays and backtagging is great. If it's something time sensitive though I'd love to work out generally what happens through PM while we continue tagging. ♚ FOURTHWALLING: I doubt this'll come up, but I'd prefer to avoid it. ♚ PHYSICAL AFFECTION: Feel free to go for it in a tag, just make sure to leave opportunity for a reaction! ♚ PHYSICAL VIOLENCE: I'm generally fine with this without needing to check first, again as long as there's room left by your tag for a reaction. For anything serious, though, please PM or contact me on plurk! It'll probably be fine, but there may be details that are relevant that need discussed. ♚ RELATIONSHIPS: This would be something I'd definitely want to discuss before doing anything. ♚ OFFENSIVE SUBJECTS: Generally nothing for me, although I'll PM or message if something does come up. Otherwise just put in content warnings where appropriate for anyone reading the threads. ☄ Permissions ♚ WARNINGS: Lance's backstory contains child abuse, and the subject has been coming up a lot for him in Hadriel. Additionally, due to his jobs as a psychologist, criminal profiler, and FBI agent, he's seen and dealt with a lot of crimes involving triggering subjects. I try to make sure to warn for everything when it comes up, but if there's anything in particular you want avoided entirely (or if you don't want me to tag you at all) please let me know! ♚ SENSING LIES: Being a psychologist and criminal profiler, Lance is very adept at reading body language, tone, and other subtle indicators of motive and intent. He's particularly talented at discerning if someone is lying, whether outright or by omission, but this is by no means any sort of supernatural power and he's been wrong before. Is it okay to use info from narrative/brackets to figure out if your character is lying or omitting information? He won't know what the truth is, just that they're not being at all/entirely truthful. ♚ READING EMOTIONS: Similar to above; is it okay to get a sense of your character's feelings using narrative/brackets information that isn't obvious? This is basically for reading subtle changes in emotion or expression that exist but aren't readily apparent. ♚ CODE: If you'd be willing to fill out the form below for what's okay or not, it would help me out a lot!
