I know what I don't want to do, which rules out my usual professions. I guess I would do something with music if I had a choice, but I don't think I can afford to be too picky at the moment.

I don't think it would be appropriate to try to give psychological advice in a world I'm not from, and I've heard working for the government is a very bad choice here.

[Both true reasons, but neither the main reasons. But the main reasons require a lot more explanation, and these work well enough.]

To an extent, yeah, but unless I only worked with people like us who came from other worlds, there would be a problem of not understanding the situations the native population might be dealing with. I don't know about their cultural histories, societal issues, that sort of thing.

It's more of a hobby, but I've had a music-related job here and there, so I think I can pull it off here as long as like, pianos still exist.

this guy named ball met with some of the displaced a while back and said he thinks we're touched by gods
he said opening the gates would prove it
there's a cult putting up shrines to us and shit, making paintings of stuff we've done
they're all over new amsterdam if you want to look
anyway, basically they believe in seven gods and they think us and our powers are proof of them
