I appreciate that, altogether I want to be clear that it is taking a risk; I'm not going to be offended or anything if you don't want to be involved.

[He's pretty sure she's offering because she has the same opinion as he does regarding Name, but he still wants to get that out there.]

The Null is really hesitant about telling people where it is, for good reason, but we do need to find out to help it. I'm going to just keep trying to talk to it for now, and see if it'll decide to trust me in time.

Yeah, though I'm concerned about those who don't but have enough self-awareness to be able to fake that they do.

[Lance had planned to do exactly the same thing if he hadn't been convinced that Name was telling the truth, so he's especially worried about this possibility.]

Um... Okay. Wash's whole team is here now. Or pretty much the whole thing.

Yeah, I heard there were a lot of them here now. Have you met them all?

Not all of them. Most of them. It's been a little... weird, I guess.

Weird in what way?

[Because there's a lot of reasons this could be weird and it might be any one or many of them.]

Uh... I don't think all of them trust me? Or maybe that's not the right word, but I guess... They think this whole thing is weird, you know? They showed up and Wash was dating someone and had like... a life here. And it's kind of awkward. Plus, I think Tucker's pissed at him. He thinks Wash was happy here while they were fighting a war at home or something.

[He nods, considering all of that, finally taking a brief break from petting Lando.]

It'll probably take some time to get used to you and Washington's life here in general, because it would be a very sudden change for them; however, as awkward as it surely is it probably won't last. But does Tucker not understand how time here works?

Yeah, he knows. I don't know. Maybe he's upset because Wash was like...

[She frowns.]

This sounds shitty, but maybe he's upset that Wash wasn't just spending all of his time worrying and trying to get back.

That makes sense. Hopefully, if that is the case, it's also something that will fade with time, as he gets more used to what life is like here and realizes that isn't a realistic expectation.

Have you met Carolina?

[He's asking for a specific reason, and trusts Kyna's judgement on people.]

Because I've heard completely different things from different people but haven't met her myself, but I figured you'd have a more objective opinion.

She's... um, really intense? Wash trusts her. She doesn't seem bad or anything.

Okay, good. I'm going to presume I only need be concerned about how well she and Ephemera get along, rather than her being an issue in general.

[He's just pretty cautious about that sort of thing, especially after past experiences here, but he'd already been leaning toward the idea that Ephemera was a little too biased to give an objective view of any potential danger.]

I don't think she's going to start anything with Ephemera. Wash said that back home, she wanted a truce with him.

Good; we have enough problems without people fighting with each other needlessly.

Yeah, basically. Wash's team is fine, it's just... you know.

Yeah.

[The whole situation back in their world seems like a mess. But alright, for now Lance will just hope they're all reasonable, normal people, even if his experiences with the military types in Hadriel haven't been too great.]

I found out firsthand who Tucker is sleeping with, so if you can like... hypnotize me into forgetting that, that would be awesome.

Unfortunately hypnosis doesn't work that way, so you're going to have to resort to regular therapy for dealing with that traumatic experience.
