[As much as it could've been worse, the last few days had been incredibly stressful and upsetting; he'd take this event over some of the ones he's heard of or the ghost one, but that doesn't mean he's interested in repeating it.

Please don't listen to him. I've spoken with him a few times before and he seemed more reasonable, so I assume he was upset about what happened to Sharon and not thinking clearly.
[Not that that's an excuse, but if he wasn't thinking clearly when he made the suggestion then maybe Brennan will decide it's an illogical course of action. At least she added that last part about not looking for death, but he's still concerned.]
